Liberia, Arinze’s Second Home

Liberia is located on the western shore of Africa. From 1989 - 2004, Liberia suffered through a deadly and bloody civil war killing 250,000 of its citizens. Following the civil war, the west African ebola outbreak spread to Liberia killing thousands of people. Liberia has one of the youngest countries with the average age being below 18 years old. However, the civil war and ebola outbreak have left most children without access to recreational and educational activities.

LEAP provides tools to the youth in Liberia to help them overcome the prior generation’s struggles through education and sport.

Arinze McGee, creating LEAP at 10 years old, shows that no one is too young to make an impact.
